Visa information
Please note that the visa process depends on your citizenship.
Indian passport holders can now enter Thailand without a visa! Just ensure your passport is valid for at least six months and that you have proof of onward travel or a return ticket.
Ensure to fill out your digital arrival card before arriving, it will make your immigration process a lot smoother: Click here to visit the page
AUS, CAN, EU, NZ, UK & US passport holders do not require a visa to enter Thailand for tourism for up to 30-60 days, but please check with your respective embassies.

Thai sim card
Before you arrive: You can easily get an eSIM online before travelling and activate it as soon as you land. It’s a great way to skip the lines at the store- some recommendations are:
- https://www.dtac.co.th/en/new-number/esim or
- https://esimthailand.com
Upon arrival: If you prefer a physical SIM (or even an eSIM), and you’re landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), you can grab one from any telecom provider right by the baggage claim or for those landing at DMK, there are counters between the International Arrival Halls 3-6.
We are signed up with True mobile, but there are other providers such as AIS and DTAC, but we recommend True.
For others, international roaming should work smoothly, too, as long as you get your packages sorted in advance!
Local currency and QR payments.
Visiting Thailand is an exciting adventure, but making payments as a foreign traveler can be challenging.
Obviously cash is king, but carrying around bundles of cash can be inconvenient or unsafe so here are a few tips:
- Most of the larger chain outlets, malls, restaurants accept travel cards such as Monzo or Revoult and credit cards which is great.
- However if you want to explore the local street markets, street food vendors, Tuk Tuk’s and local cafes most of them don’t accept cards.
- Many vendors rely on local banking systems like PromptPay, which requires a Thai bank account.
- So here are a few options to allow you to pay like a local using QR codes:
Getting around
Upon your arrival at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang Airport, there are various transport options available for you:
- Local Taxi Service is available at various locations at the airport as you reach the exit.
- Grab is a popular app for local transport, similar to Uber. We would recommend downloading it before your travel.
- If you prefer booking a vehicle in advance or need further assistance with your transport, please contact Ann at +669 682 46994 via WhatsApp.
- However, If you would like to have independence and flexibility during your stay you can also hire a car. Some of the usual providers are available at the Airports: Eurocar, Sixt, Enterprise, Avis, Hertz, Thrifty or Chic Car Rent. A good aggregator site that we have used is CarFlexi. click here to check it out.
Depending on the traffic, it will take you around 2.5- 3 hrs to reach the Aviyana Hua Hin from the Suvarnabhumi/ Don Mueang airport.
