Wedding attire

Dress comfortably

You are welcome to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Please keep in mind that Thailand’s weather can be hot and humid, so we recommend choosing light, breathable fabrics.

Indian attire: optional, not mandatory

Guests are under no obligation to wear traditional Indian attire, but if you would like to wear it, the best occasions are the Haldi event and the Shadi ceremony on Sunday, 14th December.

If you would like to buy Indian clothes in Bangkok, there are many options for both women and men available at the India Emporium.

For more detailed advice on what to wear to an Indian wedding, including event-specific suggestions and cultural tips, please refer to this guide.

For women: Saree rental

If you’d like to wear a saree, we recommend A Saree Story for rentals. Visit their website to browse and place an order—just mention our names when booking. Don’t worry about draping; professional saree drapers will be available at the venue to help you look your best.

For men: custom pyjamas & Nehru Jacket

Kurta pyjama and Nehru jacket rentals are not available in Bangkok, but Narry Bespoke Tailors can make them to order. Mention our names for a special discount. Their skilled team ensures a perfect fit and high-quality traditional attire.

Embracing Indian Culture

Indian weddings are known for their vibrant and colourful celebrations. Feel free to embrace bold colours and festive styles! However, for the Sunday wedding events, please avoid:

  • Solid black or white dresses/gowns (these are mourning/ inauspicious colours)
  • Red outfits (reserved for the bride at the wedding)

We look forward to celebrating with you in style and comfort!
